We're
on the northeast side of Woodbine with Highway 30 in the lower part of
the picture. You can see the downtown buildings in the middle of
the picture and the school grounds in the upper right portion of the
picture.
In case you're wondering, that's a wing strut going across the upper
left
portion of the picture.
Now,
we're almost directly east of Woodbine's downtown area. Highway
30
and the railroad tracks dominate the lower part of the picture while
the
school grounds just barely make it into the upper part of the
picture.
The wing strut isn't occupying nearly as much of the area in this
picture.
My nephew, Mike, took both of these pictures so any compliments (or
complaints)
need to be directed to him
This
is a good view from the north side of Woodbine, looking straight down
LincolnWay.
The school grounds are positioned between the wing and the wing strut
while
the downtown area is straight ahead and to the left.
Here
we are on the Northwest side of Woodbine looking toward the
Southeast.
That's got to be Highway 30 in the background.
Probably
the closest shot of the downtown area. We're southeast of town,
gazing
down on Main Street (otherwise known as Walker Street). Again,
the
lower right half of the picture is dedicated to the railroad tracks and
Highway 30 with the lumber yard and a few grain elevators thrown in for
good measure.
We're
now southwest of the downtown area, looking to the northeast.
Highway
30 and the railroad tracks are in the upper right portion of the
picture.
We can even see the back of the library (where my mom used to work) in
this picture.
In
this picture, what I considered to be Woodbine's landmark, doesn't look
nearly as large. I also didn't know it was painted red on
top.
I just found out this year that one of my classmates climbed to
the
top of this water tower in his younger years. In the upper right
corner, you can see the school buses lined up on the school lot.
We're
west of Woodbine for this picture, with the water tower and the school
area dominating the foreground. In the upper left corner of the
picture
is the downtown area with Highway 30 and the railroad tracks just
beyond.
Just
the east side of Willow Lake, unfortunately. I didn't have my
camera
ready for taking a picture and by the time I was ready, we were almost
by the lake. We're south of the lake, looking toward the
northeast.
We're
southwest of the airport in this picture, circling and getting ready to
land from the north. If you look closely in the upper right
portion
of the picture you'll notice a combine in the field proving that not
everyone
in the area attended AppleFest!
Here's
a much closer view of the landing strip and the airport from the south
end, looking north. Also, it's much easier to notice the combine
in this picture and even seen the dust it's stirring up as it goes thru
the field.
