Looking
through the plane's windshield we see Natalia and Emily at the controls
and their passengers, Mercedes and Erin keeping a close watch on what's
going on.
Another
view, looking in thru the cockpit door. I'm not sure why Natalia
isn't smiling, maybe I interrupted her flight lesson by asking her to pose
for ANOTHER picture.
The
younger girls are now the "pilots" while their passengers are Emily and
Natalia (hidden from view). Mercedes is so busy "flying" she forgot
to look at the camera.
Looking
in through the cockpit door this time, all the girls are smiling (well,
maybe Mercedes smile looks more like a Mona Lisa smile). We had a
half hour wait for our plane ride so this was a wonderful interlude.
Thanks again to the lady pilot (I didn't get her name).
The first girls
to go up were Mercedes and Erin. Shirley was with them so Meribeth
and I were taking pictures of them loading up.
There they
go, into the Wild Blue Yonder!!!
It was a great
flight! That's Mercedes waving to us from this side of the place
with Erin waving to us from the other side. Shirley's back there
also but I think she's just watching.
Now,
it's my turn to go up with Natalia and Emily. Here we are, taking
off. You can see Shirley, Mary Pat, Mercedes, Erin, and Meribeth,
waving to us.
Our
flight took us south of Woodbine first. Here, the Boyer River bridge
is in the foreground looking North directly up downtown.
Now,
we're north of the downtown area, looking south so the Boyer river bridge
is in the background. The girls kept saying how small the cars looked,
like they could pick them up and play with them.
Here's
a picture of Woodbine's golf course. This is where the Alumni banquet
was held this year.
At
first, I couldn't believe this was the "Birchard Place" where we used to
live. They've torn down the barn and other out buildings and a new
house has been contructed to the west of where the barn used to be.
Quite a difference from when I flew over it in 1999.
Now
we're back over Woodbine again, this time with a great view of the schoolhouses.
You can even spot the Ferris Wheel the girls rode on.
Finally,
before heading back to the airport we took a close look at the downtown
area. Now, you can not only make out all the cars on display but
also the people looking them over.
